How do you slow down old games on new hardware???

Trying to play Alpha Centauri on an AMD 64 ML-40 with 2 Gigs of RAM. If it
wasn't for stopping on my turn, the game would blow through to conclusion in
a couple blinks of the eye.

I need a utility that would limit the CPU/process to a certain percentage of
cycles. Tried Mo'Slo and took up 99% of my processor and it still screamed
by. Can't see what the AI is up to.

There hs to be something out there. Folks are still playing this game, can't
be all on old hardware...

Thanks!

Do you have all the animations on? In my experience, that's taken
care of it for me...
